Notes on Cantadora and the CatFlap Collective

13 Oct

Thankyou to all who came to see Cantadora last month at Intrepid Studio. We were overjoyed by the positive feedback we received, not to mention a standing ovation for our final show!

The comments you gave us  in the talk-backs after the show were heartwarming and inspiring. We look forward to remounting the show next year for the Victoria and/ or Vancouver Fringe Festivals.  Cantadora is also being sketched out as a graphic novel with art by Janet, and we hope to have it printed and available for sale by next years Fringe.

There are also plans in the works  to adapt this show for High Schools, as we feel that it conveys a unique perspective into the mind of a young woman who is overcoming trauma.

CatFlap Ladies are busy!

We are hosting a CatFlap Variety Show on the 12th of November to raise funds for our fringe applications. Email us at catflapcreations@gmail.com for more info about location and times

We also have plans for a Fernwood House Concert Festival – a collection of intimate house venues plus some non- conventional venues for awesome local music and performance. There will be a treasure map and lots of surprises! This festival is planned for early December. Stay tuned for more information.

All of CatFlap’s initiatives are currently produced independantly with  the desire to make powerful, beautiful and inspiring arts events accessible and integrated directly into our communities.  We like to make you think  for your art! thats what makes it fun! we want to hear your stories, we want your voices to shine too.

CANTADORA is an intimate experience of the curious, ridiculous and hauntingly beautiful landscape which unfolds in a woman’s mind as she seeks release from the effects of trauma.

There will be two shows (6 and 9 pm) with the possibility of a talk back afterwards. Come check out an incredible new piece of theatre and be a part of the magical and interactive experience which is CANTADORA.
